IMS Research – Mobile Technologies Database - Last Update August 11, 2008

Welcome to the IMS Research Mobile Technologies Database. Through this site you will be able to access detailed statistics and forecasts for cellular telephone subscribers, handset shipments and base station transceiver shipments. The statistics are provided by major country, and are further consolidated into regional and worldwide totals.

In addition to historical and current year statistics, forecasts are provided for the next 5 years. The statistics are sub-divided by reception method into analog, TDMA, iDEN, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, cdmaOne, cdma2000 1x, 1xEV-DO Rel.0, 1xEV-DO Rev.A, 1xEV-DO Rev.B, W-CDMA, HSPA, TD-SCDMA, and WiMAX; with additional detailed splits being given for HSPA and WiMAX. The statistics are updated frequently, and commentary is provided on recent changes to each country's cellular infrastructure and handset and base station markets.

The models used to derive the forecasts are provided, and the Interactive Database option enables the user to see the effects of varying the forecast model parameters.

Access to this database is provided on a subscription basis.
